• 85 support/administrative/professional/technical positions commonly found in nonprofit organizations. All positions are described for accurate comparisons

• An executive group of 16 senior management positions

In designing this survey we wanted to ensure we could accurately capture salary information on a range of support, professional, managerial and executive level positions commonly found in nonprofit organizations.

To this end, we have described the survey's positions in sufficient detail to convey the general environment in which they operate, as well as the principal functions of each position.

As a result, participating organizations have been able to better match up their positions with those in the survey. This improves the reliability of the salary data we collect, and the information derived from it.

Secondly, we wanted to include a broad cross section of nonprofit organizations in the greater Washington, D.C. area. The community of nonprofits is more extensive than many people believe it to be. Collectively, nonprofit organizations comprise a sizeable segment of the Washington, D.C. area marketplace.

The cost of the survey is $80 plus shipping and handling for participating organizations and $150 plus shipping and handling for all others.
